Experience with Covid Infection

Recording the whole process

It is now 4:56 am on December 21st, I can't sleep, so I got up and took an antigen test (thanks to a friend for providing the antigen), and I ended up with a nosebleed... I guess I got infected.

I don't know my body temperature, but I just ordered a thermometer, and unexpectedly a knight accepted the order.

Current supplies:

  1. A box of ibuprofen
  2. A box of cold granules
  3. A box of cephalosporin
  4. A box of medicine that seems to treat headaches
  5. Several bottles of BaoKuangLi (a health drink)
  6. Several bottles of Red Bull
  7. Countless earphones
  8. A bag of Red Beauty (a type of snack)
  9. Some staple foods (instant noodles, dumplings, etc.)...

Vaccine situation: Received 2 doses of Sinovac.

Right now, I'm lying in bed tossing and turning, unable to sleep, feeling cold, but when I get up and sit in front of the computer, I feel energetic, and even want to play games. But I should be running a fever, the last time I had a fever was two days before the college entrance examination in my senior year of high school, due to inflammation caused by wisdom teeth. At that time, I endured the fever and only got one multiple-choice question wrong, a few fill-in-the-blank questions, and didn't write the last organic chemistry question. At that time, I was thinking, is that it? (In the end, the score for the college entrance examination was only 79). But what I don't understand is that my parents at that time didn't seem to care much about my condition, they didn't even use a thermometer to measure my temperature, they just felt my forehead, and it wasn't until the night before the exam that they took me to the clinic, and then I had a high fever of 39°C and my gums were ulcerated. Similar to my acne-ridden face, I only went to the hospital when I couldn't bear it anymore. Looking back, the three years of high school were like being left to fend for myself, so much so that I graduated from college a year ago and hardly have any memories of it, but many things from high school are still vivid in my mind. (Off-topic)

Due to just being infected, I can only provide continuous updates based on the timeline.

DAY1#

Updating my symptoms: Temperature was 37.8°C in the morning, no appetite, coughing (but I've been coughing for a long time), hiccupping when coughing, a bit of stomach acid taste, uncomfortable stomach. Temperature was 37.2°C in the afternoon, and it reached 38.5°C in the evening.

On December 18th, I found out that someone I played basketball with was positive, and on the 19th, I found out that someone I had dinner with was positive (two different groups of people). During the day, I felt fine and worked all day, and I enjoyed my meals. My temperature was normal during the day, around 36°C. But in the evening, I still planned to bring my computer home. It seems that I was destined to get infected, and indeed, Covid taught a lesson to those who were stubborn.

When I went to bed on the 19th, I felt something was off. I slept until 4 o'clock in a daze, couldn't sleep anymore, took an antigen test, and then sat in front of the computer watching videos until around 7 o'clock when I felt sleepy. I submitted a leave request process for the company and went back to sleep. I ordered a cold noodle dish for lunch, and took another nap in the afternoon until 3 o'clock. At this time, my temperature was 37.2°C. I wanted to buy an antigen test kit when I went out, but I found out that I couldn't buy one. I had instant noodles for dinner (it seems that the delivery capacity couldn't keep up in the evening). I took a shower in the evening, and at 9 o'clock, I measured my temperature and it was 38.5°C. My parents wanted me to go home, but I was still considering...

DAY2#

Symptoms of the day: Temperature was 36°C in the morning, 36.8°C at noon, and 37.3°C at 3:30 pm. After dinner, it was 37°C, and at 10 pm, it was 37.9°C. I felt fine during the day, but a bit dizzy in the evening.

Last night, before going to bed, I took a pill of ibuprofen. I woke up again at 4 o'clock in the night and found that I had kicked off the blanket. Maybe the air conditioning temperature was too high, so I put the blanket aside. I got up at 8 o'clock in the morning and measured my temperature, 36°C. I couldn't believe it when I measured it twice in a row, it was a bit unbelievable. My dad said my mom had a fever, so I thought it would be better not to go back and cause trouble.

I ordered a stir-fried rice noodles for lunch, and unexpectedly there was a delivery rider available. I took a nap in the afternoon, watched "Black Panther" after waking up, and cooked dumplings for dinner. If it's really the winter solstice, I still want to eat tangyuan (both sweet and savory). I rested in the evening and didn't want to think or use my brain. It seems that my memory has gotten worse, I can't even remember what videos I watched yesterday. My grandfather sent me pictures of the snow scene where he is, and I told him about my current situation. He casually said that resting for 7 days would be fine. Before going to bed, my temperature was 37.9°C, so I didn't take ibuprofen and instead drank a cup of cold medicine.

DAY3#

Symptoms of the day: Temperature was 37.1°C in the morning, 36.8°C at noon, and 37.3°C in the afternoon.

Today, I woke up with a particularly dizzy head, and I couldn't stand steadily. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot, and when I went to the bathroom, I felt cold. It seems that my temperature has stabilized today, and I don't have the feeling of my brain being impacted when my temperature rises. My nasal congestion has gotten worse, and my cough is similar to before. I still have a good appetite.

DAY4#

Today, my temperature has stabilized below 37°C, and I don't feel any discomfort. I still have a cough with phlegm. My throat doesn't hurt, and it seems that the delivery capacity has improved a bit today. I ordered takeout for lunch, and a delivery rider accepted the order right away. In the evening, I played Left 4 Dead for a while and watched "Talking to Myself as a CEO" (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q51YTmbtdd4&ab_channel=%E8%87%AA%E8%AF%B4%E8%87%AA%E8%AF%9D%E7%9A%84%E6%80%BB%E8%A3%81).

DAY5#

Sunday. I woke up in the morning with a dry throat, mainly because both of my nostrils were blocked. I've been breathing through my mouth almost all day, and the fever is gone, and I feel mostly recovered.

Overall, my symptoms are relatively mild, with a maximum temperature of 38.5°C, and I only took one ibuprofen throughout the whole process. I also took showers quite casually, there shouldn't be any problem with taking showers. The only risk is the issue of keeping warm before and after showering, as it is easy to catch a cold during this time. I didn't use any physical cooling methods, but I drank a lot of water.
